Blending

The "best" blender (or mixer) for a dry bulk material application is determined by considering all of these design factors:

     • The abrasiveness of the product
     • The fragility of the product
     • Density disparities and particle size range of the ingredients
     • Preventing or dispersing agglomerates
     • The desired batch volume
     • The required total output
     • The frequency and degree of cleaning
     • Cross contamination concerns
     • Bacterial contamination concerns
     • CIP and subsequent drying
     • Heating or cooling requirement
     • Vacuum rating, for degassing or capture of VOCs
     • Pressure rating, for inerting or reaction
     • Materials of construction: mild steel, stainless, or other alloys
     • Surface finish required: industrial, sanitary for food, sanitary for pharma
